New Neighbors

We had a new family move into 9287 Avignon Place (Mike and Kathy Johnson’s former home).  

Meet Adam and Carina Wood:

Carina and I met briefly when I was a missionary in Brazil in the late 80s, but never had any additional contact until mutual friends asked if I had heard that she had recently divorced–I hadn’t.  I didn’t waste any time reaching out and asking if she remembered me.  She did, and here we are.

Carina and I have been married for just under 3 years.  We are both “empty nesters.” We have a total of 6 kids and 3 grandchildren between us from previous marriages.  We cherish spending time with them and wish they could all be in one place together instead of scattered to the four corners of the planet.  Four of the six are married and a 5th is teetering.      

Carina was born and raised in Brazil.  She has two degrees in education, but has worked primarily in her family’s insurance business since she was a teenager. She is learning English, loves living in the US, but also loves visiting friends and family in Brazil.  We spent over three months in Brazil this past winter. We hope to make similar visits there in future winters. 

I am originally from New Jersey.  I spent a few years in Florida, but have lived in the West since 1992.  I went to the University of Utah. I moved to Pocatello in 1995 where I raised my family.  I worked in the automotive world for most of my career and sold my car dealership about 5 years ago.  Carina and I have traveled extensively for the last few years. We have decided it was time to settle down and for me to get back to work.  I have recently opened a flooring store in Midvale. We hope to be here for many years.
