Latest Landscaping News

Hello Trimble Creek HOA Neighbors,

Group of people

Just thought I would create a news article about the landscape around our HOA.

We are well into the summer temperatures and lack of moisture for 2026. Of course the drought started last winter. The drought is continuing. We are attempting to keep all of our grass green now. That is no easy nor inexpensive task.

Water Leak Issues

I wrote to you previously stating that we had fixed the water leak. I was mislead. The 500 gallon per hour water leak still exists, somewhere within the property. We just don’t know where. So here is what we are doing to work around this issue, and we have had a few bumps along the way.

We have a master water control that controls the main water line. We also have individual controls, six of them, that control the individual sprinkler zones. The first individual water zone begins watering at 12:15 a.m. The last zone finishes at 9:00 a.m. We are going to “frame” the master control so that it turns on just before the first zone and finishes just after the last zone. This is a total of 9 hours. This has been a little tricky since the master control can only stay open for 6 hours. I’m attempting to have the master zone run for 4 1/2 hours twice a day starting at midnight and finishing at 9:00 a.m. This limits the water loss to about 4500 gallons three times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

I will be getting bids to replace the main line irrigation lines next year. This will not be cheap, but it needs to happen. The West Jordan Water Superintendent told me that trying to find the leak at this point will be like finding the veritable needle in a haystack.

Sod Replacement

We have three residents, Ernsts, Walks and the old Johnson home, that need some sod replacement. We have a bid for that now and our landscaper will be doing this work soon.

Tree Trimming

I’ve been made aware that some of the trees are intruding on various porches. I will be contacting our tree contractor to come out and do some trimming in the next couple of weeks.

Fixing Errant Sprinklers

In order to reduce unnecessary water usage, I walked the property with our landscaper last Thursday and noted where sprinklers need to be replaced or adjusted. Our landscaper will work on a section at a time over the summer to fix these issues.
